Essay Editors: It Is Not Only about Proofreading Essays
Ever wondered what essay editors do? We have no doubt that the prevailing opinion is that essay editors are only proofreading your paper, and correcting grammatical mistakes. We can state that such distinction is definitely lacking. The job of essay editors is definitely more than merely proofreading, and in this case, you should know that having two different words for the same job, obviously means that these jobs are different in the first place.
Range of Activities
Essay editors’ range of activities includes such tasks as changing the stylistics of the essay, proofreading, rephrasing and checking the uniformity of your paper’s structure. That does not necessarily mean that your paper will be totally changed, unless of course, your paper contained only one correct phrase, which is your name.
The tasks of essay editors will largely depend on understanding the initial thoughts organized in the paper, which accordingly depends on the clarity of such organization. It should be understood that people do make mistakes, and the existence of such profession as essay editors is a proof of such statement.
Another important factor in the work of essay editors is the determination of the required level of results. Editing a college student’s essay is not the same as editing PhD essay or an essay for a peer review journal. With that said the determination of the study level does not imply that essay editors ignore mistakes or enhance the level of the paper above its initial quality. It merely implies that the format, the language, and the stylistics in each of the aforementioned examples, should correspond to accepted standards in each level.
Purpose
It can be seen that essay editors do not do your job. Their main purpose is helping and polishing the results of writers’ work. In that regard, essay editors make sure that mistakes that usually people tend to make do not come as an obstacle for others to appreciate your work.
